story.

along came art…

Art has always been an integral part of my life. As a child I loved playing with colour and painting, so when I moved to NYC in the 80’s, I seized the opportunity to soak up every ounce of that vibrant city – spending hours immersed in museums and galleries. I followed conventional wisdom and began a degree in Interior Design at Parsons, but quickly switched to Ceramics. What Parsons gave me was an education in colour and perspective drawing – the foundations of art.  And although I didn’t end up completing the degree, what I did do was learn ‘the rules’ so I could break them. Which is exactly what I am doing today.

In the beautiful town I live, Bassano del Grappa

The days of lockdown in Italy became a transformative period for my art. Embracing the unique challenges, I discovered a profound outlet in painting, my purest form of self-expression.

Amid the changing times, I picked up a paintbrush for the first time in two decades. The moment the paint touched the page, I felt an exhilarating release and knew I had come home to my true self. I became passionately immersed in painting, watching YouTube videos, taking online workshops, and joining online artist groups.

My life is forever enriched. Rarely does a day go by without a brush in my hand. The small Italian town in which I live, with its vibrant colors, light, river, mountains, peeling paint, and cobblestone streets, now beautifully influences my work. The decade living in New York City, and my time in Milan, Tokyo, and Zurich, also inhabit my work, reflecting the dynamic, exciting moments of my past.

I've learned that painting is like life—you don’t start knowing where you will go, but you find yourself on a path. I've learned to trust my instincts and keep an open mind, allowing myself to be led. My advice to new artists is to trust yourself and follow your inner voice; you will thrive.

I am now also a surface pattern designer, having my patterns and art appearing on numerous products, including the 30th Anniversary Collection at Illume Candles.

Since beginning my painting journey I have had the incredible pleasure of:

Being chosen as a featured artist in the London Art Biennale

Having the honor to show at The Other Art Fair London

Participating in the UnFair Milano with Young Art Hunters

A solo show at Nassau 42 Fine Art in September of 2022 (with another group show coming up this summer 2023).

Group show at the YAH Factory Milano “Beneath The Surface” May 2023.

Having my work displayed in the headquarters of Nina Ricci, Paris and Ferrero Rocher, Luxembourg.

Being selected to have my work featured in Xetra stores in Bassano del Grappa and Ferrara, Italy.
